Taking good care of your skin can prevent damage and reduce the need for costly, often invasive measures later. If damage has already occurred, however, good skin care can still counteract some of the effects of nature and time.

Finding good skin care products is difficult – more difficult than you may think. Skin care advice from a department store makeup-counter consultant is little more than a sales pitch, and retail stores cannot offer pharmaceutical-grade products that can effectively heal damaged skin. Kaiser Permanente Cosmetic Services centers offer an extensive range of skin care products that are only available through physicians’ offices. Our professionally trained estheticians work with you to analyze your skin, discuss your skin care objectives, and create a customized regimen based on your unique needs. Using advanced products and treatments, they can help you improve your skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Which Products Do You Offer?

The following products are available at select Kaiser Permanente Cosmetic Services centers. Not all products are available at all centers.

Blue Lizard: Blue Lizard Suncream contains clear, micronized zinc oxide and has an SPF of 30+.

ColoreScience: This mineral-based cosmetic line utilizes nanotechnology to create products that help heal and protect damaged skin. The natural mineral content in these products imparts color and reflects light, resulting in natural-looking makeup enhancement.

Glominerals: This product line features pharmaceutical-grade ingredients, including natural high-pigment minerals and antioxidants. It helps heal and protect skin while providing coverage.

Gly Derm: These skin care products contain glycolic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane. Glycolic acid acts as a mild chemical peel. It penetrates the outer layer of skin and helps slough off dead surface cells, revealing the younger, healthier layer of skin underneath.

Jane Iredale: This product line features mineral-based makeup with pharmaceutical-grade antioxidants and vitamins. It offers strong SPF protection with no perfume fillers, chemical dyes, or preservatives.

Kinerase: Made with the synthetic plant growth factor N6-furfuryladenine, these skin care products can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, roughness and blotchiness. Kinerase products are nonacid products, so they cause no burning side effects.

La Roche-Posay / Biomedics: Available only through physicians, these skin care products target specific types of sun-exposure damage, hyperpigmentation, and acne damage. Their formulas are based on the only thermal spring water rich in selenium, a powerful antioxidant.

MD Forte: This skin care system features products with prescription-strength alpha hydroxy acid. Because the acid is partially neutralized, the products can be used in high concentrations without significant skin irritation.

NeoStrata: This line of concealing makeup provides minor to extreme coverage. CoverBlend also helps heal, treat, and protect skin through a combination of alpha hydroxy acid, antioxidants, and moisturizing ingredients.

Obagi NuDerm System: This system targets all layers of the skin to help accelerate the growth of new cells; promote even distribution of pigment; remove dry, dead surface cells; and repair damage to collagen and elastin fibers. It helps make skin firmer, smoother, and more resilient.

Physicians Complex: This skin rejuvenation system contains pharmaceutical-grade ingredients to fight aging, hyperpigmentation, and acne skin damage.

ProCyte: This line of skin care, hair care, and wound care products contains patented GHK and AHK copper peptides. Its technologies use a sequence of amino acid carriers to deliver the copper that is essential for good health.

Refinity: This alpha hydroxy-based product line for all skin types is formulated with COSMEDERM-7, an anti-irritant that soothes as it delivers prescription-strength results.

Skin Medica: This line of skin care products addresses a variety of skin conditions, including unwanted facial hair, melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and the effects of aging.

SkinCeuticals: This product line uses pharmaceutical-grade ingredients to help heal damaged skin as well as help protect healthy skin from future damage.

Topix: This line of skin care products can be used to create customized regimens based on individual needs. Products include Citrix, Glycolix, Replenix, and Resurfix.
