About Me
I am an oculofacial plastic and orbital surgeon specializing in a wide range of conditions related to the eyelid, orbit, and tear drainage system.
Born in South Korea and raised in the Philippines, I graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology. I then relocated to Loma Linda, California, where I earned my BS magna cum laude in Nursing. I gained valuable bedside experience as a cardiothoracic intensive care unit nurse.
Driven to make a broader impact on patient care, I earned an MPH degree in medical epidemiology then completed medical school education at Loma Linda University. I was honored to be elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following my internship in internal medicine at the University of California Irvine, I completed my ophthalmology training at Loma Linda University Eye Institute and served as a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Pacific Eye Institute.
Seeking to delve deeper into the intricacies of eyelid and orbital surgeries, I completed a two-year fellowship with the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) in Indianapolis, Indiana. To further enhance my specialization, I returned to Seoul, South Korea, focusing on eyelid surgeries in the Asian population, collaborating with eyelid experts at Asan Medical Center and BIO Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working alongside exceptional mentors and colleagues. As a result, I have published numerous peer-reviewed articles, taught courses on orbital trauma and eyelid reconstruction, and presented at various national meetings.
My practice centers around addressing functional and cosmetic conditions affecting the eyelids, brows, and forehead. Additionally, I specialize in treating orbital tumors, eyelid reconstructions following Mohs surgery, orbital and midface fractures, thyroid eye diseases, anophthalmic sockets, and tear duct system issues. I collaborate closely with experts in neurosurgery, rhinology and skull base surgery, facial plastic surgery, and dermatology.
In my approach to patient care, I prioritize attentive listening, open communication, clinical and surgical expertise, and attention to detail. I am privileged to be a member of the Northern California Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and proud to serve our community.
