About Me
While originally from Northern Nevada, I completed my training and education in Boston. Having attended Boston University for both undergraduate studies and medical school, I committed to another five years in the city of clam chowder and the Green Monster by completing my Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency at Boston Medical Center (BMC). My time at BMC exposed me to the wide breadth of practice in Otolaryngology as well as a colorful and diverse patient population. During my time in residency, I was fortunate enough to have worked with Dr. Jeffrey Spiegel, who’s unique practice exposed me to the full gamut of Facial Plastic Surgery, with a strong focus on Gender Affirming care. After braving 13 New England winters, I flew south to Memphis for a fellowship year in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Phillip Langsdon, a prior AAFPRS president. There, I built upon the strong clinical foundation provided at BMC, and further honed techniques and skills in both the reconstructive and aesthetic/cosmetic aspects of Head and Neck Surgery, with special attention to the aging face.
Joining Kaiser Permanente is the perfect marriage of my desire to care for a diverse patient population, practicing the full scope of Head and Neck Surgery, while being able to uniquely provide services within Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. I truly believe that the best care comes from a trusted partnership between physician and patient, and I will always strive to make the patient’s voice and concerns be a driving factor in giving high-quality, compassionate care.

Family and Friends
Joining Kaiser Permanente has not only given me new colleagues but has also returned me back closer to my family in Northern Nevada. I am excited to now be within driving distance for all holidays and family gatherings. While this is a sort of homecoming for me, my Austrian husband – Florian – is still getting used to all the hills.
Hobbies and interests
We are big foodies in my household. We couldn’t be more excited (for our stomachs) to be calling the Bay Area home and to be able to try so many new and well-renowned restaurants in our backyard. I am also a passionate cook at home as well as a voracious collector of cookbooks. I love learning about a new cuisine and bringing those flavors to life in my own home. Other interests include occasional bread baker, seasonal skier/snowboarder, avid reader, and enthusiastic world traveler.
Recent Adventures
My husband and I recently went on a month-long adventure around Asia, traveling to the Philippines, Tokyo, Singapore, and the Maldives.
